Tolman is a specialist engineering company known for meticulous restorations, sympathetic upgrades and the acclaimed Tolman Edition, our Peugeot 205 GTi restomod. From Group B legends to carefully reimagined classics, our workshop combines bespoke craftsmanship with modern motorsport standards. The result is cars that look and perform far better than they did in period.

The opportunity

Demand is growing and we're looking for a senior technician to lead our most demanding vehicle builds. You'll find and fix problems, keep quality at the centre of everything and make sure our customers are satisfied. You'll set the standard and every vehicle will leave us better than it arrived.

What you’ll do

• Lead assembly, upgrade and restoration work on high‑value road and competition cars, delivering OE‑plus fit and finish throughout
• Take ownership of complex diagnosis and rectification across chassis, powertrain and electrical systems
• Define processes and QA checks, sign off critical stages, road‑test and document every stage so customers are fully informed
• Work with engine build, fabrication and paint partners as needed
• Coach junior colleagues and apprentices in Tolman methods and attention to detail
• Drive continuous improvement

What you’ll bring

• Extensive hands‑on experience as a senior technician in classic, motorsport or specialist vehicle engineering
• Mastery of mechanical systems, wiring and diagnostics and the confidence to own complex faults from start to finish
• A proven record of leading builds to exacting standards and an agreed timing plan
• Clear, concise documentation and the ability to communicate well with the team and clients
• Experience with period performance vehicles and restomod projects is desirable
