The Tolman Motorsport Ginetta GT5 Challenge team came away from round 2 of the championship at Rockingham with three more trophies.
It could have been four again if a G40 hadn’t outbraked itself and taken Alex Preston off in the final race of the weekend. This was Alex’s and the teams first DNF of the year but regardless of this, the 2014 Ginetta Challenge has started very well for the team.
Although both drivers have slipped down the standings into 3rd and 4th places overall, they are only a handful of points from the lead.
Following a successful test at Silverstone at the start of the year where both drivers put in very respectable times, they are both hopeful of a trio of good races and high points scoring finishes.
Tolman Motorsport Team Manager Christopher Tolman commented, With another strong showing in the championship from both drivers, we are looking forward to the next race at Silverstone where both drivers have proved to be very quick. Both cars ran faultlessly throughout the weekend, which is a credit to all the teams preparations at the workshop. It was another great weekend for Alex to keep him close to the top of the championship standings and having David score another podium finish was the icing on the cake for us.
We have a little work to do in the next week to repair Alex’s car but I am confident for a successful Round 3 at Silverstone Circuit.
