Originally built in 1959 for “Dickie” Stoop, this Lotus Elite was intended to race at Le Mans however, following an accident post practice, it didn’t start the race. It was sold on in 1966 and re registered as “OKX 84D” and passed around until its current owner took it on as a body shell and a collection of boxed parts. Fully and sympathetically restored by Tolman, it is now resplendent and ready to be driven and enjoyed.

A truly beautiful restoration, this car came about following a test day with a long standing client and his race car when a shared passion for Talbot Sunbeams was discovered and a plan took shape. A complete set of Sunbeam Lotus parts and a body shell were sourced and a works spec engine commissioned to be built by long term friend Phil Davidson. Restored to perfection inside and out, this stunning car now features many unobtainable parts and accessories from the original Talbot tuning catalogue, which makes the car period perfect.

This car was commissioned to be an ultimate weapon for both road and track inspired by the spirit of the original Group 2 rally cars but with a modern twist to aid driveability and performance. All the developments are non invasive to preserve the integrity of this classic. The 2.2 works specification engine now runs on throttle bodies with 8 injectors producing a very driveable 260bhp. Featuring a fully welded roll cage, sequential transmission, 3 way adjustable dampers, and AP Racing brakes the hardware is beyond question and, discretely supplemented by multiple engine maps, launch control, fly by wire throttle and much more.

From the magical era of the roadgoing homologation special, the Ford Escort RS Cosworth was designed from the outset to compete in both the Group A & N classes of the World Rally Championship. Initially intended to be a light restoration, after seeing one of our other complete builds, our client went for a full nut and bolt restoration. Corrosion was eliminated, drivetrain refreshed, interior lavishly re trimmed, uprated AP Racing brakes fitted and the now fit and healthy rally rep treated to a high quality paint finish and beautiful OZ rims shod with suitable Michelin tyres of course.
